GREATNESS – Drake’s “Scorpion” Goes Platinum In Less Than 24 Hours

OVO Sound boss Drake has plenty to brag about right now. The 6 God’s newly released “Scorpion” album is already a certified platinum hit. According to reports, it took less than 24 hours for Drizzy to push out a million units.

Drake’s solo album is currently en route to destroy its sales chart competition. Based on early reads, Scorpion by YMCMB/Republic’s Drake is on track for a record-breaking first week.

Drake (YMCMB/Republic) 870-920k total activity, 275-300k album. The set, which surpassed 300m worldwide streams within its first 24 hours, has dominated the Spotify #1-23 of the Top 25 U.S.

It is also Number 18 of the Top 25 Global Apple Music all of the Top 25. And iTunes #1 album and three tracks in the Top 1) charts since its arrival. Spotify and Apple have both given Scorpion primo real estate, with The Spot according to the streamery’s first-ever site takeover.

Last weekend, New York rapper Fabolous talked about missing a Scorpion Miami listening party.

Since dropping Friday, Drake’s new album has crushed huge streaming records on Apple Music and Spotify. Drake’s “Nonstop” has broken the US Spotify record for biggest single day 5.75m streams on 6/29. Scorpion garnered 170m global streams on Apple Music in its first 24 hours, the most streams in a day on any single service.
