The campaign against police brutality is trending on Social Media again. This time it’s a petition to the National Assembly to eradicate the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), after many allegations of civilians harassment and even inappropriate killings by them. Now, Nigerians are really taking this serious.

Veteran rapper, RuggedMan, was immersed into the Trend actively, after dropping the Video to his single “Is Police Your Friend?” and joining the campaigns led by activist, Segalink. He even urged artistes to speak out for their fans.

And as it appears now, for themselves because even celebrities are victims of the menacing squad. Jaywon, Dr Sid, Do2dtun, DJ Obi and more have had issues with the SARS.

Well, it appears that more artistes, who were silent before, are beginning to have a re-think. As it looks now, many will join the movement soon. During the last week there was talk about this from a few rappers. They actually took it on wax. And we must commend their bravery.

First is fast-rising rap artiste, Zlatan Ibile, doing a short rendition titled “EndSARS”. Though, very short, it still passed the message across while actually delivering some dope bars.

Next is pioneer of Igbo rap, Mr Raw, who dropped a song “19” that addresses the subject in a constructional way. He puts on that early 2000s rap vibe and gives us a dose of nostalgia. While actually preaching about EndSARS.

Another rapper who’s gone into the booth to do (or say) something about the matter is upcoming rapper, Mode Real. He recently dropped a jam “End SARS”. He addressed the issue for two minutes, chipping in some short hilarious skits that portrayed scenes of SARS harassing people.

We’re waiting for the Yung6ix’s, Olamide’s and M.I’s. Meanwhile, M.I and his Choc Boiz Nation crew are on the “Control The Economy” Tour.
