Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falz, popularly known as Falz has achieved yet another landmark with his chart-topping single “This Is Nigeria”. This time, the video has officially surpassed “Soft Work” to become the rapper’s most watched Video on YouTube.

Guess what? He did it, in 21 days. Today makes it exactly 3 weeks that he dropped the Video, and now it’s approaching 6 million views on the Video-sharing platform.

“Soft Work” which was previously his most-viewed video, has been watched well over 5.7M times. But This Is Nigeria has beaten with over 100k more views as it currently sits at 5.87M views.

This also makes it one of the most-watched rap videos of 2018, second to only Olamide’s “Science Student” which has raked in an amazing 8.5M views. Between last 2017 and now, not so many Videos from rappers has surpassed the5M bar.

We have Olamide’s “Wo” taking the lead spot with 20.1M. Other videos that have topped so far includes Phyno’s “Augment” with Olamide, which has 5.4M and his “Link Up” which clocks in at just 974k views.

Not to forget, Mr Real’s “Legbegbe” hit with a mind-blowing 4.3M views since February this year. Making it one of 2018’s best rap videos. DJ Enimoney’s “Diet” has 1.8M. Naira Marley’s “Issa Goal” featuring Olamide and Lil Kesh, uploaded by The Fader in April now has 836k views.

Falz’s “This Is Nigeria” is also one of the most interactive Videos, having being liked 173k times and disliked 8k times. Case study of a different case is “Fada Fada” which was watched 11M times, and was only liked 36k times. You can compare the figures. It can only get better from here as Falz continues to rake in the stats.

It’s now starting to become a debate, whether “Science Student” or “This Is Nigeria” is 2018’s best video. We’re glad, though, they’re both rap videos.

Meanwhile, Coca-Cola recently dished out a remix version to Naira Marley’s “Issa Goal” meant to promote support for the Super Eagles at the World Cup 2018. The new version has Naira Marley, Lil Kesh, Falz, Simi and SlimCase, and it’s called “Naija Issa Goal”. Good luck to the super eagles Nigeria.
