Nigerian rapper and Chocolate City Music C.E.O, M.I Abaga, has proven himself to be one of the best hip-hop products out of this part of the world over the years. Consistently and inconsistently, he has delivered to fans of rap music in Nigeria and beyond for over 10 years!
Now the fact that about ten years after his first major outing with “Talk About It”; he could still win an award for “Best Rap Single” and even “Lyricist On The Roll” is impressive. If nothing else, these promptly shows that the “You Rappers Should Fix Up Your Life” rapper is indeed on a wavy level.
In February, just before he released an emergency Playlist, Rendezvous; M.I teased us with a new album, which is to be titled something in the lines of “Yung DenzL”. This was expected to hit us by May. But then came Rendezvous. We couldn’t ask for more.
But as the days roll by, it appears we may be approaching a new M.I album even faster than we know it.
Earlier today, the rapper, replying to a tweet from a fan asking him to make another album. MI stated that the album was done but was unable to release it yet. However, he then added that he can drop the track-list for a number of retweets.
Meanwhile, the rapper has given us 7 solo projects throughout his epic career. That includes 2008’s “Talk About It”, 2010’s “MI2” and 2014’s “The Chairman” and the three Illegal Music mixtapes. We must also include the Playlist, released this year.
He also has a compilation album with Chocolate City. If he drops “Yung DenzL” it would be his 10th projects. Legend!
