Since the release of Falz’s controversial track “This Is Nigeria”; we’ve done a couple articles about it here on HipHopHead. Days ago, we had reported that the Video had grabbed 3M Views on YouTube.

And as at Monday 4th June 2018, the video hit 4 million views on the video sharing platform. We are very glad to announce this. All this is coming barely two weeks into its release.

This is nothing short of impressive. It stands to be one of the most-viewed rap videos ever in the history of Nigeria rap music.

While the 2017 Headies best rap single (MI’s You Rappers Should Fix Up Your Life), only managed to accumulate 196k views, Falz has shown the world why he deserves more accolades.

Although, he’s yet to break his own record. “Soft Work”, his most-watched video on YouTube currently sits at 5.7M views. It is important to note that most of his videos reach less than the 4M landmark.

His “Soldier” hit has 3.2M, while “Wehdone Sir” scored 1.4M. Both “Something Light” and “La Fete” have reached 1.7M views while his Bahd Baddo Baddest sits at 1.6M.

Most Nigerian rap singles in 2017 couldn’t even reach 1M views on Youtube. But here is Falz, gathering 4M views, in less than two weeks. It is time for Nigerian rappers to come to the feet of Falz, and learn from the rabbi.

One thing is evident; although truth is bitter, people will listen to you when you speak the truth. Even Falz must be surprised by the acceptance this has gotten.

“This Is Nigeria” was released May 25, 2018, with it’s Video. The song which is satiric in nature, is a cover of Childish Gambino’s “This Is America”.

We don’t know what may happen before the week ends, stay tuned.
