Buzzing underground indigenous rapper QD, “Quddus David” AKA “Egun Agba” has been honing his rap skills in the underground. And he is carving a niche for himself as a force, ranking among the likes of Olamide and Reminisce.

QD isn’t laying back, he has got that burning passion to make a mark. And with the release of his first mixtape “Egun Agba” which means “old masquerade”; there is no stopping him.

QD hints us on what to expect when the mixtape finally drops with the release of the first single”Epon”. The single is crafted from Wizkid’s “Soco” beat as an inspiration.

From the first listen, it comes off correctly as a groovy afro themed track. The rapper wastes no time, and quickly gets to the job of exploring the sound. QD delivers some fiery braggadocio themed lyrics over the beat, exhibiting his skill along the way. But overall the jam is enjoyable, something you can easily nod your head to. You might want to give it a second listen.

Going over the track again and again might get you imitating the Jam’s vibrant Afro hip hop elements. QD easily deploys a mixture of good lyrics and a professional rhyme structure which synchronizes completely with the beat. This track also exhibits the fusion of pidgin English with the Yoruba tongue. The rapper combines both pidgin and tribal linguistics to deliver an easily adaptable jam.

This is not the everyday noise we hear on radio, this track will surely sweep you off your feet. I promise, you will not regret Jamming Epon. If you do regret it, I will refund your data!

Listen and enjoy as QD takes us on a commercial rap dance tune. Let’s go “Epon”
