Although getting a label contract these days is still counts as privileged. But even at that, the holy grail days of record deals in music Industry are far behind us. But that has not been the mindset for some musicians.
As a matter of fact, many artistes believe what they need to work on is getting a deal and chopping money. However, record deals have really a blessing to struggling upcoming acts. And it means a whole lot to their career progress.
The next artiste to receive this blessing is street rapper, Idowest. And we are not talking of by just any mushroom label. He got his signature on a contract from Nigerian pop star, Davido’s DMW.
It was earlier rumored that he was signed under Dammy Krane’s Worldstar movement which is also a DMW affiliate. Although, we cannot confirm the accuracy of that theory, it is widely believed that Idowest, never signed a legal contract with Worldstar movement. This must be why Davido could slide in himself and snatch him.

Davido who took to his Twitter page to announce the signing. And the news has since spread, and everyone is congratulating the rapper. This is coming few days after, Idowest delivered a freestyle on Tim Westwood’s popular Crib Session in the UK.
Idowest burst into fame in 2017 with Slimcase assisted monster hit “Shepeteri”. He does a lot of shaku-shaku and possesses a flow similar to CDQ’s, he’s one of the most promising rap acts, in Nigeria.
