One of Naija’s hottest rappers, of all time, Reminisce recently checked in with an ill rap record titled “Ajigijaga,” named after a popular Nollywood character. For a while now, the self-proclaimed “Alaga Ibile” known for his versatility, has been away from the rap game.

He has engaged in stuff that were, impressive, but not to be considered as hip hop. Meanwhile, Reminisce remains a Nigerian hip-hop icon. My prediction of a comeback of runaway rappers, it’s coming true. Reminisce bounces back with what seems to be his best rap record in a while.

And on it, he ticks every box for the “best rap single” of 2018. In fact, he should get a “Lyricist On The Roll” nomination for this. The lyrics are very intelligent, the flows are as essential as M.I’s, in those days, and he switches the two languages of English and Yoruba, as he flows on.

All of these and more are the reason why social media is bit giving Reminisce any time to rest. Since that song dropped, barely a day ago some people have started pitching it against other rappers’ work. The most interesting comment of all I’ve seen, is that of an upcoming rapper, by the name Meffizy Olarz, who on Facebook said Olamide plus M.I is equals to Reminisce.

While some people will agree, that the “Local Rappers” rapper has the dexterity of Olamide Baddo, and may have the lyrical intelligence of M.I Abaga, others are trying to avoid such comparison. Whichever way it turns out to be, one thing is sure, Reminisce is one of our baddest rappers in Africa.

By the way, do you agree? is Reminisce a crisp of M.I and Olamide? Check out the new jam “Ajigijaga” and be the judge.
