Where Is MI? This is the question on the lips of ardent Hip Hop followers. He is ranked as one of the best rappers that Nigeria has ever produced. But having graced the headlines with a Mix-tape which he dropped last year, Mr Incredible has faded into obscurity in 2017.

MI Abaga hails from Takum in Taraba state but spent his childhood in Jos, Plateau state. MI Abaga dominated the music scene with his breakthrough song “Safe” featuring Djinee. Since then he has continued to impress Hip Hop lovers with his sound. According to many, he is the catalyst that revived, restored and resurrected the Hip Hop scene in Nigeria.
Where is MI?
MI dropped his first album known as “Talk About It” and it was a commercial success. After that he dropped his sophomore album popularly known as MI2 which proved to be another success. Not too long after that, our favorite rapper went on a hiatus, dropping The Illegal Music 2 on the way. After four years, he came back with a Rap song titled “King James” which says that he is still King in the game with nobody sitting on his throne.
After he dropped his Chairman album, which also won the Rap Album of the year at theĀ 2015 Headies awards, he dropped another project which is the illegal Music 3 (the last of it’s series). M.I became the most featured rapper and his success owned totally down to the immense work he made on his project.

His Huge Responsibility at Chocolate City

I was having a chat with a few cats and all anyone asks now is where is MI sef?
Unprecedentedly, Chocolate City merged with Mi Abaga’s Loopy Records as they were celebrating their 10 years anniversary in the music industry. The merger saw MI Abaga being made the chief executive officer of chocolate city. A tremendous responsibility.
It was at this moment that we no longer saw the shadows of our beloved MI Abaga as the position of the CEO made him focus more on the careers of other musicians under the label than that of his own career. He has been mentoring the likes of Ckay, Dice Ailes, Loose Kaynon, Ruby Gyang and Koker.
From the beginning of 2017 till now (October 2017), M.I Abaga hasn’t dropped any song yet. But the distinguishing factor is that his fan base is ever active. He still supports other musicians and irrespective of the fact that he hasn’t released any song, he fans haven’t gotten tired of him.
However,Hip Hop Heads are edging to get something from M.I Abaga. Jesse Jagz who happens to be MI Abaga’s younger dropped an album in September this year. M.I has told fans that his album is ready. He has an album in the works and a mixtape which is “Young Denzel” happens to be one of the next projects which he intends to release anytime soon.

Self acclaimed Africa’s Number One hasn’t failed to win the rap album of the year at the Headies. His three previous albums is testament to his quality. Now the question on everybody’s lips right now is Where is MI? The fans will never get enough, maybe its time for Mr Incredible to make a bold artistic move. What do you think?
