Biography Of Big Trex; All You Didn’t Know About Him

His name is Oyinlola Joseph; also known as Trex or Big Trex. He hails from Osun state Nigeria from a family of four. Trex happens to be the the last child of his parents. We are going to do a short biographical cover on this rising star so grab a beer and tune in.

He was born on the 18th of February in 1993 to the family of Champion Sunday Oyinlola; who happens to be a Juju musician and Maria Ikem Oyinlola, his mother and also a health assistant at LASUTH. She is now retired however.

Appearance and musical history

Trex is a is tall, huge and dark in complexion. He fell in love with music at a tender age through the influence of his dad who had worked with legends like king Sunny Ade, commander Ebenezer Obey and the likes before going solo to form his own musical band.

Big Trex

He grew up listening to different genre of music from RnB to rap, Afro and Fuji and Juju music. But he spent most of his time listening to artists like boys II men, Westlife, Back Street Boys, Micheal Jackson, John Legend, Usher Raymond and Fela.

Big trex as he is fondly called started singing right from his secondary school days at National College Gbagada, Lagos state. When ever he did his own ingenious version of other hit tracks in front of the other students, he was asked to join the school choir. He however refused because he did not like the teacher who was in charge as at then.

Later did a song with Tanko, a student at the same school who is now an artiste but currently based in Jos, plateau state.

Big Trex’s childhood experiences

At the age of 14, he started following his father to musical shows. One of his most memorable experiences was when he visited the palace of the late Ooni of ife palace, Oba Sijuade with his dad. It was one of his biggest experience as at that time.

Trex went on to join the church choir at Redeemed Christian Church of God where he ended up becoming a praise Team leader at the age of eighteen. He eventually became popular with his Afro gospel pop style of music in church

After completing his secondary education, he had to wait for two years before gaining an admission at the polytechnic Ile Ife in Osun state. It was in this institution he got a national diploma in Computer Engineering.


After his national diploma program, he did industrial attachment at the Federal Airport Authority Of Nigeria (FAAN) in 2015. He ended up releasing three Afro pop singles during that particular time. Thy include “Buga Love” Produced By Hulways, “Story” Produced by momneng  and “Redemption” featuring Segun Miofemo and Momneng produced by Taleenbeatz.

He had to go back for his higher national diploma (HND) program. It was during around the period of March 2016; when he dropped another song titled “Capable”. It featured Vision but was produced by Taleenbeatz. Taleenbeatz has some experience since he has worked with the likes of Cynthia Morgan, Big Shef, Jahbless, Orezi, Ice Price and other top hitters. The song hit over 2000+ stream and download in the space of a month.

He has performed at different events and shows like beauty pageants and school events. Big Trex has also shared a stage with artistes like Pepenazzi, Small Doctor, 9ice, Qdot, Dremo, Dapo Tuburna and other rising stars.

He is currently without a label and hoping to pour out his heart through his style of music. He is ready to work with any team available.
