Now lets focus our spotlight on another youngster by the name Flamez Turnerz. You might want to ask if he works with the fire department, but he doesn’t, he happens to be my namesake. Born Kelechi Godwin obioma, the Nigerian rap artiste hails from Enugu state in eastern Nigeria. This is short extract of our chat-up with him;

How did you come about your stage name?

The name flamez came when a friend figured out that since I was a hot rapper, that the name will fit me. Then I decided to add up Turnerz. My stage name is now on every social platform.

What inspired Flamez Turnerz to venture into music and tell us about your Childhood and family background

Flamez Turnerz

Music was my passion so I decided to try it out and its been good so far. I come from a nuclear family blessed with five children and I happen to be the fourth boy. I started music in secondary school but started recording in SS3.

We know its not easy, so how do you combine music and academics

I do combine them very well because I only go to Sunday shows. On other days I do read my books, I write some music when am done.

What has been your greatest challenge and success as a budding Nigerian artiste

In terms of challenges, we spent resources to make good music and afterwards, the music don’t get to play on some radio platforms. Sometimes I do tell my self that upcoming artists are blatantly ignored.

You have a unique style, which top artiste would you like to feature and why

I would love to work with Ycee, Olamide and Davido because they do good music. They also have a history of helping upcoming artistes gain publicity.

Who is your role model and why do you respect him/her

I respect Wizkid a lot because he worked real hard to attain the level he is today. Unlike most artistes that don’t have the courage to step up without the support from rich relatives. By the grace of God, put together with my effort, I see myself as great as him in the near future.

Support Flamez Turnerz and share this post, he’s coming to the industry so watch out.
