How did you come about your stage name?
Back then when I was a child, my teacher called me Calzy boy. So I was known as Calzy boy throughout the school. As I grew up, I had to change it to Lil Calzy.
What inspired you to venture into music
I grew up in religious family, we attended deeper life bible church. My father was a choir master and I was a lead singer in the teenage choir. But because of the love I had for Hip Hop and R&B music, I decided to switch and see if I can make it, then suddenly I fell in love with it.
Tell us about your Childhood and family background
I am the first born out of the four children. I’m also the only boy, nothing much to discuss about my family though.
We know its not easy, so how do you combine music and academics
It has been so difficult combining music and academics. At first my parents were not in support, so I decided to visit the studio on weekends. Now I have my personal studio in my room so its all very easy for me now.
Lil Calzy which top artiste would you like to feature and why
I would like to feature Tekno or Patoranking. I love and learn from their patterns of music. My choice Patoranking because a lot of people suggest that I sing like him and that I look like him.
Any other thing we need to know about you?
I am working on my first album which is titled “Leviticus journey”. My role model is Timi Dakolo, I love his kind of music and the way he sings. In fact everything about him oozes quality. In a few years, I see my self in the place where God have purposed for me to be in.
