How did you come about your stage name?

My stage name was created by my elder brother Ikenna. I was trying to figure out a good name for myself in my music journey, so he created Pemo as an acronym of my my full name like this; P is from Paul, E is from Ekene, M is from Martin and O is from Okwor.

What inspired you to venture into music

Well what inspired me most was my ability. Whenever I listen to music, I always generate passion and I know that this is what I have to do. I don’t just sing to make money I sing because it is part of my life.

Pemo Tell us about your Childhood and family background

My child hood was incredible. Especially when I sang in front of my friends and made them feel very happy. My family is large, we are seven in number. But I lost my dad in 2015 after a brief illness, life has not been so easy after that.

We know its not easy, so how do you combine music and school

Well it wasn’t so easy combining both, but my brother always told me to focus more on my studies. So normally on sundays or weekends generally, I do to focus more on writing songs.

What has been your greatest challenge and success as a Nigerian artiste

My greatest challenge is finance, because without money there no music. So There is hardly any money to sing not to talk of promoting it.

You have a unique style, which artiste would you like to feature and why

I will like to feature Zoro Swagbag. Why? because I like he way of delivery and his understanding of music.
