How did you come about your stage name?
What inspired you to venture into music
Music has been part of me ever since I was a kid. Since dad was once a local musician, it’s more of an inheritance so it runs in the family. I then decided to take mine one step further.
Tell us about your Childhood and family background
Growing up wasn’t funny or easy most especially when dad died. It was rough, tough and bad for my mum me and my siblings. It got to the extent that I had to hawk and sell bean cake before and coming back from school just make ends meet and pay my school fees. It was hell indeed I assure you.
We know its not easy, so how do you combine music and academics
I find time to do music more cos I’m actually not in the university now because I lack money for tuition. But hopefully I’ll further my education when the time is right.
What has been your greatest challenge and success as a budding Nigerian artiste
It’s has always been financial problems, sometimes you have a song to record but there is no money to foot the bills. It has always been money problems and also getting someone to manage or promote you.
Wizzie Jay which top artiste would you like to feature
Firstly I would love to feature Olamide because his name alone is big brand and I like the kind of song he does. He’s one of my favorite rap artistes in Nigeria, so with him I believe I will go strong.
Do you have any upcoming projects we need to watch out for?
Yes like I said previously, I have a lot of projects at hand but it’s all halted by the financial issues. I’m currently recording a song which will be out soon.
Any role model?
My role model is Yung six, I like he’s way of killing beats. He’s never shy when it comes to killing beats and I’m from the south south just like he is. And more specifically he’s the generous type and not such a snub although he has a God-complex and I respect him for that.
Where do you see yourself 2 years from now?
I can’t do it all alone, I know I’ll be far bigger than this two years from now with God by my side. He’s my biggest role model, He has has kept me going and with him everything is possible.
